What to expect from your Cambridge Weight Loss Centre
Our Cambridge Weight Loss Centre is there to offer advice on the Cambridge Weight Plan programmes available to you and to encourage you to maintain your new weight.

Before you start
Your Consultant must conduct a screening interview and complete a Medical Record Form (MRF) with you before supplying any products. (If you return after an interval of six months or more, they will complete a new MRF for you). You will be advised to see your doctor before starting the Plan and you must sign the MRF to confirm you have been given such advice. Sometimes, if you have certain medical conditions or you are taking any medications, you will require your doctor’s signature before the Consultant can start you on any programme. Please note: your Consultant must not supply Cambridge Weight Plan products to anyone with a current or past eating disorder without first obtaining further medical advice from Head Office (anorexia is a contraindicated condition and use of our products is not permitted in any circumstances). Your Consultant will keep a track of your progress at each visit and will keep your record confidential and safe.

Starting the plan
At the first face-to-face meeting, your Consultant will weigh and measure you, then discuss an appropriate target weight with you. Your Consultant should stress that every weight loss programme has four stages: preparation, weight loss, stabilisation and management. They will explain all of the Cambridge Step Programmes and then, after discussing your personal circumstances, your Consultant will recommend the appropriate Step to start on. Your Consultant will have available a copy of “Weight Plan Steps Programme” booklet for every new customer. As you progress towards your target weight your Consultant will recommend a change of Step. Even when you reach your target, you should continue to see your Consultant until you are confident that you can successfully manage your new weight. Your Consultant will also explain to you any possible mild side effects and how to avoid them.

Keeping in touch
Your Consultant should arrange to see you on a weekly basis to weigh, measure and check your progress before providing further products.

Side effects
Your Consultant should advise you about possible temporary side-effects when using either Sole Source or Sole Source Plus. If you do experience any of the known transient side effects (e.g. a headache), your Consultant will advise you to drink more water (see your Steps booklet for further information). Your Consultant should follow up with you personally (or by telephone) at least every other day until the side effects have disappeared. If the side effects persist for more than 48 hours, your Consultant will advise you to see your doctor. Your Consultant will also seek further guidance immediately from the Company’s Medical Advisor. If you experience any unusual side effects (other than those outlined in the Steps booklet), your Consultant will refer you to your doctor without delay. Your Consultant should ensure that details of any side-effects, actions taken and outcomes are included on the MRF/CRC.
